Expert Systems Open Opportunities

Situation

• A client used a decentralized approach to assigning salespersons to existing customers. The assignment strategies varied across the country and were largely undocumented. The client wanted to be able to assign prospective customers as well, but did not have a reliable way of doing so.

Solution

• Patrick Solutions developed an expert system based upon the multiple assignment strategies employed by the client. The expert system was able to make the assignment of prospective customers using the same logic the client would eventually use to assign existing customers.

Results

• The client was able to improve its sales process by keeping consistency between the presales and post sales salesperson. Additionally, the client was able to leverage these assignments across its websites, internal processes and customer mailings.
