Quick Reporting

Situation

• Over the years, we have had multiple situations in which a client has needed to gather or report data quickly or for a limited amount of time. Because the needs were immediate and short-lived, the clients’ IT organizations were reluctant to commit resources to the projects.

Solution

• Patrick Solutions has worked with both the IT organizations and the end users to create pragmatic reporting tools via SQL, Excel or a web-based application, so that the client could meet its reporting needs on time, while also ensuring the IT organization was able to maintain control over the standards and life cycle of the application. In some cases, these applications were built to be moved back into production behind the clients’ firewalls. In other cases, the applications were housed on Patrick Solutions’ servers for the duration of the reporting need.

Results

• The clients were able to meet their reporting needs on time. The clients’ IT organizations were able to meet their existing commitments. The clients’ IT organizations were able to accept fully functional applications when they had resources to begin working on the projects.
